If that doesn t solve the problem try this trick.
Fix bedroom door latch.
Loosen the knobs a little to relieve some of the pressure on the door and to free up the latch a little.
Both hinges should be nice and secure.
Remove one of the screws on the jamb side of the hinge and drive in a 3 in.
Slide the latch in and out to see if it moves smoothly and if not the door knob may be too tight.
Tighten the hinges first if you find that the latch contacts the strike plate too high or too low make sure all the door s hinge screws are tight.
But if your door is dragging due to a loose hinge it s the top one that will cause the door to pivot on the bottom hinge and thus drag.
Check on the bottom hinge as well of course.
Check the top of the door.
Now try closing the door and give.
Is the top edge parallel with the top door jamb head jamb.
Tighten any that might be loose and then check the door again.
If not there is more to look for.
